Milan, 12 December 2019 – On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Piazza Fontana massacre, an extraordinary session of the City Council took place today, in the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.

On Wednesday, December 11, Mayor Giuseppe Sala participated in the unveiling ceremony of the plaque in memory of Giuseppe Pinelli and the planting of the red oak dedicated to him. Together with him, Pinelli's daughters, Claudia and Silvia. Also present was the President of the City Council, Lamberto Bertolé

On Monday 9 December, deputy mayor Anna Scavuzzo discovered the 17 tiles in Piazza Fontana. Each panel bears the name of one of the victims of the attack on the National Agricultural Bank. The eighteenth, larger panel bears the inscription: "12 December 1969 - Piazza Fontana massacre - 17 victims - Bomb planted by the far-right terrorist group Ordine Nuovo"
