Milan, March 27 2024 – The assembly of the scaffolding for the restoration of the building began today in Piazza della Scala Palazzo Marino. The installation of the scaffolding, which has obtained the positive opinion of the Superintendence, will require approximately twenty days and is a prelude to the start of the works on the main facade of the headquarters of the Municipality of Milan.

The conservation and recovery works, at no cost to the Administration, will be entirely supported by the Tod's group. The works will be carried out by Estia, a company specialized in the restoration of monuments and historic buildings, based on a project by Dontstop Architettura SRL and Andrea Borri Architetti. Coordinator for safety during execution and responsible for the works is Progetto CMR. Technical sponsor is the Jesurum-Leoni Comunicazione agency of US-The Future is Now srls, identified through a public notice last November.

The first phase of the intervention will take place on the front of Piazza della Scala which, for a total value of over 2,2 million euros, will be developed in successive lots on the other external facades of the building and on the sixteenth-century internal ones of the Courtyard of Honor .

The works will have a maximum total duration of 16 months and will be an opportunity to make the civic center of Milan known to the public: in fact, "open construction site" initiatives are planned and the work will be used as a support for an illustrated history of Palazzo Marino.
