"The beautiful summer" of Milan. The public notice to participate in the Municipality's schedule has been published

Public notice aimed at identifying initiatives to be promoted within the program called "La bella estate"

Milan, May 28 2021 – Simplified procedures, reduction of time for authorizations, coordinated communication and free land occupation are the main advantages for the operators who during next summer, until 21 September, will propose cultural, sporting, recreational and entertainment initiatives in the city free time, dedicated to fashion and design.

The notice published on the Municipality's website follows the resolution with which the Council approved the creation of "La bella estate", a program of initiatives that aims to accompany life in the city throughout the summer of 2021. The objective is to support the resumption of all activities after the long months of standstill, making the organization of events easier and therefore the city's cultural offering more attractive overall.

The Municipality will therefore make outdoor municipally owned spaces available free of charge - such as courtyards, cloisters, spaces belonging to libraries, town halls - for the implementation of the projects, extraordinarily ensuring that all initiatives included in the schedule will receive the acceptance of the requests presented by 15 days before the event for the purposes of obtaining the authorisations, concessions and licenses necessary for carrying out the initiatives themselves. All the benefits provided for by the Municipal Regulation regarding the occupation of spaces and public areas for the initiatives included in the schedules promoted by the Municipality will be applied to these.

The “La bella estate” program will be promoted through a communication campaign spread throughout the city, also involving the website and social channels of the Municipality of Milan, accompanied by graphics created specifically by the Communications Department. The subjects included in the schedule will be granted the use of the identifying image which they can use in their communication materials.

Proposals may be submitted at any time and must be received:

  • no later than 21 days prior to the date scheduled for the start of the initiative (or the start of land occupation) in cases where the issuing of authorizations by the Single Events Desk is envisaged;
  • no later than 7 days prior to the scheduled start date of the initiative in all other cases. The deadline for submitting proposals is 1 September 2021, at 12:00, for initiatives that require the issuing of authorizations by the Single Events Desk and 15 September 2021, at 12:00, in all the other cases.
