Lattuada: "First thought of Ukrainian women. Milan, city of women not only on 8 March, but all year round". Friday 11 March the inauguration of a new Milan women's center in Municipality 7 – The campaign

Milan, March 7 2022 – Camilla, Michela, Lucia and Ginevra. The faces and stories of the #DonnediMilano are at the center of the campaign launched today by the Municipality, as a sign of renewed commitment alongside all the women of Milan and beyond.

"This March 8 – declares the Mayor's Delegate for Gender Equal Opportunities, Elena Lattuada – cannot fail to stand out for its strong commitment to peace and the first thought goes to Ukrainian women and their suffering from an unjust war, as well as to all the women who are in danger in the world. All the citizens' initiatives will address a thought and an action to the Ukrainians, the Afghans and the women who live wherever there is an outbreak of war".

The #DonnediMilano campaign, visible in many city spaces and on the Facebook page of the Municipality of Milan, aims to tell the stories, work and objectives of four Milanese women. These first testimonies will be followed by others and the women will tell their stories in first person with short video clips.
"It will be a way to build the narrative of the city – explains the Delegate – through the voice of the women who work, who are committed, who make Milan great every day. A city of women not only on 8 March, but all year round ".

On Friday 11 March at 16pm, a new Milan women's center will be inaugurated in Municipality 7. Offering women places to meet, listen and respond to their needs, in all municipalities, is a concrete way to support them.

"Strengthening the action of the Milan women's centers in each municipality – concludes Elena Lattuada – will be one of the actions that, in the wake of what has been done in previous years, we will carry forward with great commitment and with particular attention to the themes of research and orientation towards work, as well as the response to the many social needs that women express".
