Cascina Cotica
Premise
The Delta Ecopolis residents' cooperative has started an urban regeneration project through the renovation of Cascina Cotica, located in via G. Natta 19 in Milan (Municipio 8) which, concluded in 2018, returned it to the citizens and the territory.
Strengthened by the cooperative values that have always distinguished it, DeltaEcopolis founded the Cotica Foundation whose mission is to make the farmhouse a catalyst place for specific projects and events dedicated to various issues important for the territory and consistent with the values of solidarity, mutuality and intergenerational exchange.
Proposal for a collaboration agreement
The proposed collaboration agreement concerns the pedestrian part of via Natta, a continuation of via Montale, which is included between the Cascina Cotica and the commercial establishments opposite, which will be re-furnished and adapted to pursue the objectives of the Pact and allow a regeneration of the Borgo and its sociality.
The objective of the Pact is to continue pursuing the founding purposes of the Cascina, embracing the surrounding neighborhood and recreating the ancient community with its related village. The intent is to transform a place of simple parking or passage into a lived and participated place, an ideal connection between the various actors that make up the community and the members of the community itself, which can therefore encourage mutual exchange and meeting.
Consequently, the project is aimed at promoting the urban redevelopment of a hybrid place, regenerating the space and restoring the urban decor with a precise identity and a defined profile. In this way, the renewed path would favor the pursuit of another objective, which is to facilitate meeting and intergenerational exchange of knowledge, intertwining it with cooperation.
