Contributions for initiatives of schools, associations and other private social entities

The Municipality, as part of its institutional tasks, provides for the granting of contributions in favor of institutes, associations, companies, organisations, public or private bodies.

Contributions can be made for occasional activities or for individual projects carried out in the Municipality area, provided that they are aimed at citizens, institutions or particular categories of citizens and have the following objectives:

  • information
  • training
  • promotion
  • social aggregation
  • organization and implementation of interventions serving citizens.

Financial support is provided following evaluation of the requests submitted as part of activities relating to the following areas:

  • cultural
  • sport and free time
  • socio-educational, as well as aimed at social cohesion and the protection of vulnerable groups
  • valorisation of the territory, neighborhoods and commerce.

The following initiatives are not eligible:

  • from which profits arise for the promoters or proceeds that constitute forms of financing for third parties, except in the case of initiatives aimed at raising funds for activities of high social importance
  • which constitute advertising or promotion for the sale, even if not direct, of goods or services of any nature
  • promoted by political parties, movements, associations or entities however named which represent social categories or forces or which are promoted by trade unions or trade associations, as well as by professional orders and colleges for the exclusive purpose of propaganda and proselytism or for the financing of their own structure organizational
  • professional competitive sports.

The amount of contributions is established by each Municipality independently.

The contribution granted refers to the single initiative and does not extend to other similar or similar initiatives.

For requests regarding initiatives that have already received a contribution from other offices and bodies of the municipal administration, their availability must be verified preliminarily by the recipient municipality, depending on the characteristics of the initiative, in agreement with the other municipalities and /o Central municipal departments/areas involved, ensuring that the sum of the contributions paid does not exceed the established limit.

For initiatives that are repeated periodically over the course of a year, the period and duration must be specified. For initiatives that repeat annually, the request must be reformulated every year.

The contribution may not be paid if its object does not meet the criteria set out above, without the interested party being able to claim compensation or compensation of any kind.

At the time of presentation any expected income must be declared in the request.

Once the initiative has taken place, for the purposes of disbursing the contribution, a statement must be submitted documenting all the expenses incurred for the implementation of the initiative, including any income.

The organizer has the obligation to include on all advertising material of the initiative:

  • the logo of the Municipality of Milan and the Town Hall
  • the words "With the contribution of Municipality 3 of the Municipality of Milan".

The granting of the contribution does not constitute an exemption or exemption from the tax obligations that the beneficiaries are required to pay based on the laws, regulations and provisions of the municipal administration. An exception is made to what may be provided for by the legislation in force in favor of local public bodies, the state, associations, foundations and non-profit organizations of social utility.

The granting of the contribution does not entail the free provision of structures or services belonging to the organisation.

The Administration is relieved of any responsibility relating to the organization of the event which is the subject of the contribution.

The disbursement of the contribution takes place at the end of the initiative and upon presentation of a report of the activities and expenses actually incurred. In the case of partial implementation, i.e. actual costs lower than the estimate, the financial support will be paid and paid in proportion.
