How is the vote cast on the ballot paper?

1. Voting for the election of the President of the Region and for the election of the Regional Council takes place on a single ballot

  • The form bears the names and surnames of the candidates for the office of President of the Region, written within a specific rectangle, alongside which are shown, enclosed in a larger rectangle, the mark of the list group or the marks of the list groups gathered in a coalition with which the candidate is connected
  • lines are placed next to each mark to express any preferences.

2. Each voter can, by choice:

  • vote for a candidate for the office of President of the Region
  • vote for a candidate for the office of President of the Region and for one of the lists connected to it, by tracing a mark on the mark of one of these lists
  • vote separately for a candidate for the office of President of the Region and for one of the other lists not connected to it, by drawing a mark on the mark of one of these lists ("separate vote")
  • vote in favor of only one list. In this case the vote is considered also expressed in favor of the candidate President of the Region connected to it.

3. Preference vote

  • The elector/voter can express up to two preference votes in the appropriate lines of the ballot, writing the surname or the name and surname of the candidate/candidate or candidates included in the same list. In the case of the expression of two preferences, they must concern candidates of different sexes from the same list, under penalty of cancellation of the second preference
  • if the voter votes in favor of a candidate/candidate for President of the Region and prefers more than one list, only the vote for the candidate/candidate for President is considered valid and the list votes are null and void.
