On the occasion of the regional elections of 12 and 13 February 2023, anyone who goes to vote in their municipality of electoral registration will be able to take advantage of the travel concessions provided for by state legislation for electoral consultations (articles 116 and 117 of Presidential Decree 30 March 1957, n. 361; law 26 May 1969, n. 241).
 

Discounts for rail, air and sea travel

The tariff concessions are applied directly by the companies that manage the relevant transport services, on the basis of agreements stipulated with the state administration.

• For rail transport:
  Italo – Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori SpA, Trenitalia SpA and Trenord srl
• for air transport:
  Italia Trasporto Aereo SpA (ITA Airways)
• for maritime transport:
  - Compagnia Italiana di Navigazione SpA
  - GNV SpA
  - Grimaldi Euromed SpA
  - Società Navigazione Siciliana ScpA
  - NLG – Navigazione Libera del Golfo Srl

Electricians/voters residing abroad will be able to access travel concessions by showing the notice postcard sent by the municipality of electoral registration.

Motorway concessions for those residing abroad

THEItalian Association of Motorway and Tunnel Concessionaires (AISCAT) has announced that the motorway concessionaires will adhere to the requests for exemption from the toll for people residing abroad with the same methods applied in previous electoral rounds. Therefore, the validity of the benefit will begin:

• for the outward journey: from 22pm on the fifth day before the consultation
• for the return trip: from the day of the voting operations until 22 pm on the fifth day following the conclusion of the voting operations themselves; Motorways controlled with an "open" toll collection system are excluded from the concessions.

To take advantage of the discount, for the outward journey you will have to show the electoral card or the notice postcard sent by the municipality of electoral registration or the certificate issued by the Consulate of the place of residence and, for the return journey, the electoral card endorsed by the president of the polling station where the vote took place.

The other companies not registered with AISCAT will continue to guarantee compliance of behavior towards people residing abroad.
