Mandatory documentation for everyone
- health card (National Services Card) or tax code
- a passport photo (three for AIRE citizens) in color on a light background, recent and with the head uncovered, compatible with the parameters established by the Ministry of the Interior
- list of registry offices equipped with booths dedicated to taking validated digital passport photos
- see requirements prescribed for paper photographs
- for security reasons, photos stored on USB media are not permitted
Additional documentation for some specific cases
- in case of new release
- another valid identity document (passport, driving licence etc.). - in case of renewal
- present the expired or damaged document (the document will be collected by the registry officer) - for those who are domiciled in Milan but reside in another municipality
- also present the documentation proving the impediment to travel to the municipality of residence - for those who do not belong to the EU
- also present the valid residence permit or residence card - if the old document has been lost or stolen
- also submit the complaint submitted to the Public Security authority - if the old document does not allow identification and you do not have another valid identity document
- the presence of two adult witnesses with valid identity documents is also required
Additional documentation in case of home release for health reasons
A delegated person must go to the counter to request the home delivery service and must show:
- an identity document of the person holding the identity card
- a medical certificate certifying the inability to move
