Milan, 1 July 2022 - Will be presented lunedì 4 luglio 2022 alle ore 18:30 a Cascina Turro - piazzale Governo Provvisorio 9, the free counter Neighborhood psychologist, which was born from the project started by Municipality 2 in collaboration with the Nave del Sole association.

More precisely, this project of widespread proximity psychology to support citizens is able to respond to the growing demand for psychological support and the worsening of the discomfort caused by the "long tail" of the COVID-19 epidemic, and has three main objectives : reception, orientation, co-elaboration.

The psychological "help desk", open to the local community for four hours a week and managed by a professional psychologist, will have the task of welcoming and listening to users, taking charge temporarily through a free consultancy and psychological support activity (for a maximum of three sessions, in person), as well as orientation and redirection activities towards the most appropriate local support services (ATS, ASST, Counsellors, CPAA, WeMi network, entities adhering to the Municipal Third Sector table, local associations that provide psychology services).

At the same time, the updated mapping of local networks will be implemented, in terms of accessibility, functionality, governance and evolutionary capacity.

In addition to receiving immediate requests from users, the "Neighborhood Psychologist" also wants to act as an innovative multidisciplinary service aimed at social actors who intend to propose initiatives and interventions in the territorial area of ​​Municipality 2.  

For the implementation of the project, a psychologist will be involved, in charge of help desk activities, user support and mapping of the territory; an operator, in charge of communication; the multidisciplinary team of the Nave del Sole, for meetings aimed at supervising existing situations and consultancy/governance on projects with a psycho-social impact proposed in the territory of Municipality 2.

The “Neighborhood Psychologist” project is configured as a research-intervention action, with the calendar year 2022 as its execution time frame. At the end, a summary report of the interventions carried out and the problems addressed will be presented, in order to allow a correct assessment of its real impact on the territory.

Among the expected results, the following are indicated:

• greater clarity among citizens on the usefulness of existing psychological services;
• better operation and activation of public and private third sector services;
• greater capacity for mediation in projects that develop in the Municipality territory between different bodies and between bodies and institutions.
