Four meetings dedicated to the musical culture of the North American and European world in the twentieth century, linked by the common thread of musical expression as an instrument of dissent, resistance, emancipation and liberation.
The four meetings lasting approximately 2 hours, presented by Municipality 2 and organized by Città del sole - Amici del Parco Trotter, in collaboration with ANPI 10 August 1944, will consist of "lessons" that will unfold within as many strands musical:

• blues and folk - 17.03.2024 - Talking Blues - edited by Paolo Botti, musician and scholar of music history. The blues and American music of oral tradition: paths of freedom between Africa and Mississippi, between Ireland and the Appalachian mountains;
• jazz - 24.03.2024 - Freedom Jazz Dance - edited by Claudio Sessa, music critic and scholar of jazz history. Jazz as freedom and dance, but also freedom in dance, like wanting bread and roses;
• music of Soviet dissidence - 14.04.2024 - Great Soviet cabaret - edited by Alessio Lega, musician, musicologist, researcher. Resistance, humor and dissidence of Eastern European poetry;
• light, popular, singer-songwriter Italian music - 21.04.2024 - Pop, popular, political music? - edited by Jacopo Tomatis, music historian with particular reference to the Italian singing tradition. "Bella ciao", the story of a song, a show and many records.

The project is aimed at spreading musical culture with a view to the possible establishment of a working group that organizes future structured moments of cultural aggregation, and enhancing the space of the former church in Trotter park through cultural initiatives of citizen appeal.

All meetings will take place at the former church of the Trotter park (park access via Giacosa). Free and free entry.
