Short and long term work camps

The voluntary work camp is an experience of community life, knowledge and cultural exchange with the aim of carrying out socially useful projects. They are a moment of training in education for peace and solidarity.
The activities carried out are among the most varied: excavation, restoration and cataloging of finds for archaeological fields, cleaning of beaches and green areas for environmental fields, fire surveillance, cultural entertainment and assistance for children or disabled people, construction and renovation of buildings for international solidarity camps.
The duration of the work camps can be:
- brief (for two or three weeks, normally in the summer period). No specific skills are required, but a willingness to work in a team and knowledge, even minimal, of the English language in the case of experiences abroad are required.
- long term (two to six months). They are organized in developing countries, where specific and professional skills are often required.
It is necessary to register well in advance because attendance at training meetings is almost always required.
Normally the volunteer is responsible for only the travel costs and a fee that includes insurance and accommodation and food costs.

Abareke Nandree work camps are a short-term volunteering experience in Mali organized to promote international solidarity and cooperation and, through the implementation of concrete activities on the ground, to develop values ​​such as intercultural dialogue, collaboration and peace. The camps take place in the Sokorodji neighborhood of Bamakò alongside local volunteers.
The required activities are: tutoring for homework help; artistic and theatrical workshops and cultural and musical exchange.

Associazione InformaGiovani

Italy-Nicaragua Association
The association organizes study and knowledge trips, solidarity projects and work camps in Nicaragua in the summer months with the possibility of experiencing the daily Nicaraguan reality of small communities and rural areas.
In August, it promotes a work camp in Tipitapa, in the Department of Managua, in collaboration with the local municipality and the union active in the maquilas (Free Zones) present in the area.

Association of Volunteers for Service in Protected Areas. Non-governmental, self-managed and non-profit organisation.
She has been active in the conservation of protected wilderness areas, beaches and communities in Costa Rica for 25 years, promoting environmental volunteerism with social awareness. 

CARITAS 
Caritas is a pastoral organisation. Among the numerous activities in the humanitarian and solidarity field, it is close to the victims of natural disasters and conflicts, contributing to emergency aid and reconstruction operations; and then, more in the long term, aid for development and human and social promotion, especially for the most fragile and vulnerable social groups. CEFA Onlus

Camuno Center for Prehistoric Studies
Non-profit cultural organisation. From the experience of documentation and research gained in Valcamonica, it deals with documenting, enhancing and understanding rock art, transforming scientific research into culture and knowledge for all.

Educational Orientation Center
The association is an NGO, engaged in international cooperation projects. It is a voluntary, independent and non-profit association. It promotes research, education and action programs on the topics of political participation, non-violent popular defence, peace and intercultural education, non-violent conflict transformation, development models, renewable energy and ecology. The MIR and the MN of Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta, in collaboration with the Sereno Regis Study Center, and other groups and communities, organize summer camps every year. The goal is to experience nonviolence.

Chantiers Histoire et Architecture Medievales.
The association organizes restoration projects with volunteers or young people from the Universal Civil Service.
The projects are also aimed at school groups, offering workshops to raise awareness of artistic heritage. Heritage education allows young people to learn about medieval art and buildings in a fun way, with restoration and enhancement projects of the medieval environment. It is a non-governmental organization, NGO, which operates in complex contexts, in close contact with children and vulnerable people.
The projects are aimed at preventing, reducing and responding to cases of abuse, neglect, human trafficking, exploitation (economic and sexual), harmful traditional practices, abandonment.
He works, making his contribution to improving the lives of children.
The proposed volunteering camp is aimed at young people aged 18 to 35 who want to enter a reality different from their own, to relate to children who live in disadvantaged contexts, to do something concrete for them, to adapt to very spartan situations , to live an enriching experience in a group. The volunteer camp takes place between Addis Ababa and Arba Minch in the July/August period. Service Center for Volunteering Metropolitan City of Milan.
It offers orientation services for volunteering, which accompany citizens to learn about associative realities in order to live experiences of solidarity.
It has created a collection of projects, initiatives and short volunteering opportunities in Italy and abroad that organizations report, with proposals that are constantly updated, to be carried out mainly in the summer months but not only.
These experiences are aimed in particular at young people, but also at adults and families.

Contravaux
It is a network that brings together more than 300 associations or local structures in France that have chosen to work on the issues of volunteering and international work camps, creating moments of discussion and exchanges of good practices through educational approaches. 
The proposed activities are based on a mutual, freely chosen, disinterested commitment for the benefit of a project of general interest.

EU Aid Volunteers
European international volunteering program for humanitarian missions abroad is an initiative of the Directorate General for Civil Protection Operations and Humanitarian Aid of the European Commission (ECHO) managed by the European Agency for Education, Culture and Audiovisual ( EACEA). Focsiv Volunteers in the World
Focsiv is the Federation of Christian International Voluntary Service Organizations. Since 1972, through the work of young people in civil service and international volunteers, it has made its human and professional contribution available to the poorest populations. It organizes camps both in Italy and abroad. Experiences that unite people of different origins, cultures and religions around a common project, becoming a moment of training in solidarity. Milanese Archaeological Group
The Gruppo Archeologico Milanese onlus is a voluntary association, active in Milan for over thirty years in the promotion, knowledge and love of the archaeological, monumental, historical, artistic and cultural heritage.
All activities are organized and managed by the members. IPSIA

It organizes volunteer camps in Kenya with the desire to bring young generations closer to international cooperation by offering the possibility of carrying out projects with their own hands to support the most needy populations.
The association is looking for volunteers who are particularly predisposed to sharing and with a strong spirit of adaptation because they will live with the Maasai people, working, cooking, eating and playing with them. Movement to Fight Hunger in the World
It is a non-profit voluntary association that has obtained the qualification from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to operate in developing countries as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in the context of international cooperation.
Among the numerous activities promoted, the association organizes summer work camps in Rwanda, also called "the country of a thousand hills" for its fascinating mountainous landscape. It is possible to visit the projects and leave a concrete sign of your passage through help in the daily challenges of the African population.

Oikos Environmental Protection
The association deals with problems related to the conservation of forestry heritage, research in the psychological field in close connection with the evolution of social systems, and issues related to the world of young people.

OVCI la Nostra Famiglia is an NGO, recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It operates in South Sudan, Sudan, Brazil, Ecuador, China and Morocco.
It promotes international volunteering projects, even short-term ones (one month) during the summer periods.

Parada Italia Onlus
It is a non-profit voluntary association that deals with recovering abandoned minors in Bucharest through circus arts.
It was born in 2006 from the project: "A red nose against indifference", where Miloud Oukili, a young French-Algerian clown, brought his art to the underground of Bucharest, revealing a harsh reality and denouncing it to the whole world.
The association has since then been present on the streets, in the canals, in the stations and in the abandoned houses of Bucharest, coming to the aid of children, young people and families, through the following services: - the Mobile Unit, Carvana, in aid of who is in need; - multifunctional day center; - educational center, intended for young people who leave school prematurely, as well as children of the second generation of street children; - the artistic program of the social circus; - The educational program of social football; - individualized orientation and professional support programs in the labor market; - harm reduction programme; prevention, support and treatment of communicable diseases.
Over the course of these years in Bucharest, many young people have managed to leave the streets, have started studying or working again and have begun to look to the future with hope.

National Park of the Casentinesi Forests
In collaboration with the State Forestry Corps, the Park Authority organizes a 15-day volunteering session.
The participants collaborate with the Park and CFS technicians in visitor assistance activities, in the maintenance of the paths and small structures of the Authority, in the control of the territory, in wildlife management actions.

Mlal World Project
It was founded in the sixties as a unitary missionary centre. The objective was to offer a support network to the lay volunteers working at that time, on a personal basis, in Latin America and to encourage solidarity with the Latin American peoples in Italy.
In its increasingly defined role as a non-governmental organization (NGO), it is now engaged in international cooperation.

Project for People is an international organization active in Italy, India, Brazil, Bénin. Its commitment is aimed at improving the living conditions of over one million beneficiaries, especially women and children, in the health, educational and economic fields.
He is in India to build health facilities, bring drinking water and food, educate the little ones and promote women's rights. It is in Brazil with projects against early pregnancies, to guarantee education for street children, social inclusion and professional training for young Brazilians.
He is in Benin to fight malnutrition, guarantee the right to education for the little ones, promote agricultural development in an area weakened by famine.
The organization welcomes volunteers for even short periods, from 1 to 3 months.

International Route - Pax Christi
It is an international Catholic peace movement. It organizes courses in various European countries to discuss issues related to peace, justice or international cooperation and summer activities that take place in Florence, Calabria, Umbria, El Salvador, Germany, Madagascar.

SCI - International Civil Service
Secular international voluntary association, NGO recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and consultative member of UNESCO and the Council of Europe.
It promotes volunteer activities and camps on the topics of peace and disarmament, conscientious objection, human rights and international solidarity, social inclusion and active citizenship, and sustainable lifestyles. At the base there is a concrete commitment to change situations of inequality, injustice, degradation and violation of human rights. Volunteer camps take place all over the world and last on average two/three weeks.

Non-profit organization. Organize environmental stewardship projects, protect, enhance and restore national parks, marine sanctuaries, cultural monuments and urban green spaces across the United States, giving students the opportunity to be passionate about and help make a positive impact on the world they surrounds them.

TRI – Tethys Research Institute
A non-profit research organization supporting marine conservation through science and public awareness, with a focus on large marine vertebrates.
Tethys' ongoing projects have been conceived as responsible tourism projects: volunteers are a valuable aid to researchers in the sector and their support is essential. Participants do not require particular skills, nor scientific or nautical experience: good will and enthusiasm are enough.

UnAltroMondo Onlus
It is an association made up entirely of volunteers, and is inspired by the fundamental principles of New Humanism: the human being as a central value; the equality of all human beings; recognition of personal and cultural diversity; the affirmation of freedom of ideas and beliefs; "active nonviolence" as a methodology of action.
For years it has supported and promoted development projects in Mali, Senegal, Togo, India and Gambia, organizing with the population to create more humane living conditions for all.

Unerec
National popular education movement made up of associations, which carry out actions with a dual objective: the social progression of individuals and the participation of citizens; improve living spaces and territories in a sustainable development approach.
Union National Etudes et Chantieres, is a pedagogical and cultural project that offers a series of varied opportunities to go on volunteer missions.

Union Rempart
It is a cultural project that organizes voluntary work camps for the valorization of cultural heritage in France.

University Builders 
Association engaged in the construction of buildings for host communities.
The solidarity camps are aimed at volunteers aged 16 to 70.
Through the weekly and weekend solidarity camps, the University Builders movement offers manpower for small construction jobs to associations and organizations that operate in the social sector and which, despite the need to redevelop the properties in which they carry out their activities, do not have the economic capacity to directly support the interventions using specialized manpower.

A bridge for 
It is an association for international solidarity and a non-governmental organization founded in 1991, immediately after the end of the bombings in Iraq, with the aim of promoting solidarity initiatives for the Iraqi population affected by the war. Subsequently, the organization's intervention was extended to other countries in the Middle East and the Mediterranean area, to Serbia and Kosovo. 
The aim is the prevention of armed and violent conflicts, particularly in the Middle East, through information campaigns, cultural exchanges, cooperation projects, peacebuilding programs and building networks for social justice. 

Vines
It is an International Association promoted by the Institute of the Salesian FMA of Don Bosco. 
It promotes volunteering of an educational, missionary and social nature. She invites young people not to "watch life from the balcony", but to consciously act in favor of those who suffer.
The young volunteers are included in the projects that the FMA carry out in the marginalized areas of their cities, or in third countries that suffer particular situations of injustice, poverty and need.
For Vides, volunteer camps are a direct experience in the field during the summer period, for a duration of two or three weeks, in collaboration (where possible) with civil and religious authorities, associations or local groups.
It is possible to carry out a short-term training experience, free of charge.

VIS, International Volunteering for Development, is a non-governmental organization that deals with development cooperation and international solidarity, also through the tools of distance support and support for Salesian missions in the world.
It is also an educational agency that promotes and organizes awareness-raising, education and training activities for development and global citizenship.

WWoof Italy
It is part of a global movement that connects volunteers and natural rural projects by promoting educational and cultural experiences based on a non-profit exchange of trust, to help build a sustainable global community.
Volunteers participate in the various activities that take place on a farm or in a rural environment, in an educational and cultural exchange, sharing the lifestyle of their hosts.
The program is open to all adults.

WWF Italy
WWF ITALIA is an organization that, with the help of citizens and the involvement of businesses and institutions, contributes to conserving natural systems in Italy and around the world.
It offers holidays with the aim of discovering, appreciating and learning about nature and participating in activities to support conservation projects.

YAP - Youth Action for Peace Italy
It is an international voluntary association
The association has a database with more than 2000 projects (including numerous camps in Europe for boys and girls aged 15 to 17).
Workcamps are a 2-3 week volunteering activity abroad in which between 10 and 20 volunteers from different countries participate. The camps have various themes and the volunteers choose the project based on their interests and the activities to carry out: there are environmental, manual, social, cultural projects, entertainment projects with children, with disabled people, etc. The common language is English.
