The “Enerbia” Ensemble is made up of musicians with a broad background that ranges from ethnomusicological research to teaching, from the use of ancient instruments to vocal performance. This wealth of knowledge is essential to revive both the ancient and popular musical repertoire of the "Four Provinces" in all its extraordinary vitality and beauty. In the valleys that form the border between Lombardy, Liguria, Emilia-Romagna and Piedmont, an original musical tradition which is still of great vitality has flourished over the centuries. Some of the most interesting songs in the popular repertoire are linked to the agricultural world and the re-flowering of nature. Even today in the Apennine valleys it is possible to witness the calendar rites that mark the return of the beautiful season with songs, dances and collections of food. The festivals traditionally begin with the "Cantamaggio" and continue in the summer with cheerful dances on the farmyards of the small villages. The concert in Cascina Linterno aims to revive these atmospheres: the ancient group dances performed in circles - Alessandrine, Monferrine and jigs - will be presented together with delicate late nineteenth-century waltzes, songs dedicated to marriage, the nocturnal serenade and the country party will be evoked the flowers with their symbolism, the thrill of wine and love. The instrumentation is one of the protagonists of the Concert with the use of the extraordinary popular instruments which are one of the peculiarities of the Western Apennines tradition. The woody timbre of the popular oboe called piffero will resonate, still used today in the dance repertoire together with the sweeter one of the violin, in dialogue with the mandola, the accordion, the guitar and the voice
