Cave Park Bread - 2023 Edition

These days the canteen in Piazzale Velasquez is receiving a daily donation of 900 sandwiches thanks to the initiative <The Cave Park Bread: the bread of solidarity>>
What is this?
Perhaps you don't know that, starting from 2015 (the year of the Expo), at the disposal of the Green Area of the Municipality of Milan, a portion of the land of the Cave Park open to public use has been allocated to the cultivation of wheat for the production of bread.
The sowing, the harvest and its valorisation have been entrusted to the Temporary Association of Agriparco Companies, which - on behalf of the municipal administration - also takes care of the maintenance of a large part of the Cave Park.
Municipality 7, the Parco delle Cave Associations and Agriparco supported the project which involves the involvement of young inmates of the Penal Institute for Minors “C. Beccaria", committed to learning the trade of bread making thanks to the "Buoni Dentro" project.
The wholemeal bread produced by the boys with the wheat grown in the park is offered free of charge to people in difficulty through private social workers.
