CLASSICAL MUSIC - Milan is alive

CLASSICAL MUSIC FROM THE NEIGHBORHOODS TO THE UNIVERSE

Milan 22 June 2022 - One of the essential missions of the Milan Symphony Orchestra is undoubtedly interaction with the territory, always embracing the concept according to which music can and must constitute an element of civic education and social cohesion. With this conviction, the Largo Mahler orchestra, from the 23 June to the 3 July, leaves the Milan Auditorium and goes on a trip to the City Halls, finding hospitality in iconic places of Milanese culture: from the Cascina Martesana to the Stefano Cerri Auditorium, from the Cinema Nuovo Armenia to the Ribalta Barona, the Cascina Casottello, Mare Culturale Urbano , Casa Vidas, CAM Gratosoglio, the Cascina Biblioteca, Barrio's, Heracles Gymnasium and Spazio Micrò. Places located in the various Milanese municipalities (from 2 to 9), places where the importance of culture and aggregation are fundamental today more than ever. A project in collaboration with MUSA! Circle Concerts, a reality that offers innovative concert formats for children from birth, families and adults to orchestras, theatres, music festivals and educational institutions.

Two distinct projects:

CLASSICAL MUSIC IN THE CRADLE OF THE WORLD
“Classical music in the cradle of the world” is a concert that leads us to discover the sounds and magic of classical music in the world, with a particularity: the audience becomes part of the concert, sings and moves or simply is present and listens in silence. The spectators, with the musicians all around, sit on a carpet, but travel with imagination and spirit: “Fauré and the infinite sounds of Anatolia” “Bach and Africa!” “Schubert and the Circle Songs of Bobby McFerrin” “Brahms and the jazz lullabies” are just some of the songs that will make the audience glide to the four corners of the globe, meeting different cultures and discovering ever new landscapes. The intercultural character is an invitation to openness, and the absence of a stage leads to a shared musical experience between audience and musicians.

WHAT BIG EARS I HAVE
A concert dedicated to families, to bring adults and children closer to the wonderful world of Classical music. The concert is based on listening, singing and movement: children and adults are involved through the emotions that the music transmits. The musicians and the audience enter into an authentic relationship, in a closeness guaranteed by the absence of a stage: the musicians are arranged around the audience, thus creating a shared sound experience. Only at the end of this musical journey can we applaud, if we want. The program is rich, varied, of high artistic interest, and is composed of instrumental and vocal pieces of classical music, jazz, traditional music, world music and Circle Songs, which allow musicians and the public to make music together.
