On March 10, 2023 at 20:00 pm the show will be on stage at Spazio Teatro 89The number twenty-two” as part of the season NO BORDERS curated and organized by Compagnia Carnevale with the patronage of Municipality 7.
The show, by playwright Alessia Matrisciano and performed by Chiara Cappelli, retraces, in a concert of different voices that use story, dialogue or poetry, the true story of love and anorexia of Saint Catherine of Siena.
Caterina is a girl who rebels against the ideal of life that her family wants to impose on her and finds the path to salvation in self-destruction, the necessary saying "I am" that society denied to the women of her time. Caterina's maturation path takes place in a non-linear way, between the lights and shadows of her character and with the disturbing specter of death.
However, it wants to be a story of love and courage. Caterina, remaining locked in her room, managed to become the most important political figure in the world; at the price of the destruction of her body, she reclaimed her freedom to exist and think until her last day.
