Milan of the Righteous Tour

A walk through the streets of the city to discover the stories of the Milanese Righteous.

Who is a Right?

I Righteous they are neither saints nor heroes, but ordinary people who at a certain point in their lives, faced with injustice and persecution, were capable of courageously going to the aid of the suffering and thus interrupting, with an unexpected act in their space of responsibility, the chain of evil.
Telling their stories is a way to remind everyone that they can always get involved and intervene in defense of a fundamental right.

In December 2021, within the Milano è Memoria Call, promoted by City of Milan, Gariwo Foundation has organized itinerant guided tours, open to all citizens, to discover some symbolic places of the memory of Milan, linked to the events of the Milanese Righteous who, risking their lives, saved numerous Jews and others persecuted during the Nazi occupation.

The project, carried out with the contribution of the Municipality of Milan in support of initiatives of entities involved in the diffusion of the constituent themes of "Milan is Memory”, found a highly positive response and participation from the city. For this reason Gariwo proposes the journey through the city in the footsteps of the Milanese Righteous.

Walk in the footsteps of their history and discover the places that were the stage of the life and activities of the Righteous Milanese active during the Shoah. Take part in the traveling tour through the streets of Milan, accompanied by a professional tour guide who will tell you all the secrets of those places in Milan that you have passed many times, but where perhaps you have never stopped.

Take part in the next events, the tour will be rescheduled shortly and the next dates will be communicated as soon as available.
