Milan commemorates Giorgio Perlasca, with a plaque in via Sapri 45/55

Milan, with a plaque proposed and created by Carlo Perini foundation, remember Giorgio Perlasca.

The plaque unveiling ceremony will be held Monday 16 October - at 15pm, in via Sapri 45/45 (near the road already dedicated to him).

Giorgio Perlasca was an Italian trader who in the winter of 1944, during the Second World War, posing as the Spanish consul general, saved the lives of over five thousand Hungarian Jews, saving them from Nazi deportation and the Shoah.

The name of Giorgio Perlasca is also found in Jerusalem, among the Righteous Among the Nations, and a tree in his memory is planted on the hills surrounding the Yad Vashem Museum.
