Plaque in memory of Antonia Pozzi

MILAN IS MEMORY. Saturday 12 November, the President of the City Council Elena Buscemi and the delegate for gender equal opportunities Elena Lattuada participated in the memory of Antonia Pozzi, in which a family of admirers donated a plaque in memory of the Milanese poet in the house where she lived in via Mascheroni 23.

The gift of Chiatti family, passionate lovers of poetry, will allow us to remember, in the house where she lived in via Mascheroni 23, the Milanese poet Antonia Pozzi.

Born in Milan in 1912, she attended the Manzoni high school, then the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy, graduating with a thesis on "Flaubert's literary education". A traveller, polyglot and photography teacher, she taught at the Schiaparelli Technical Institute for a few years.
With a sensitive and gentle soul, he experienced a young love thwarted by his family which marked his poetic production and his life, until his suicide in 1938.
The appreciation for his work and his biography is international and has been growing in recent years also in Italy, due to the worthy dissemination work of many poetry lovers.

The municipal administration participated in the unveiling of the plaque wanted by the Chiatti family (the father, a great admirer of the poet), bringing the greetings of the administration and the thanks of the city for this important sign of memory towards a cultured, passionate and free woman.
