Exhibition 'In Archive, ANPI and Cittadella: Posters from the Resistance'

Milan, the city of the Gold Medal for the Resistance, told through posters, photographs and documents dating back to four post-war decades, from 1945 to 1985.

Is called "In Archive, Anpi and Cittadella: Posters from the Resistance" the exhibition curated by Citadel of Archives, Provincial Anpi of Milan, University - department of historical studiesIn partnership with Milan is Memory e Town Hall 9, which will be inaugurated on Saturday 18 June at 18pm at the Citadel of the Archives, in the presence of representatives of the administration.

The material covered by the exhibition - the first on the theme of resistance held at the Cittadella and in collaboration with ANPI - comes from the poster fund of the archive center of the municipality of via Gregorovius 15, which preserves the main posters produced by the Civice Stamperie and posted on the walls of the city During the years. Documents that allow you to tell, in sentences and images, the history of Milan and its best artistic and cultural expression, the urban evolution but also the character of a city faced with the most difficult moments, such as the complexity of post-war reconstruction and the anxieties of the years of lead.

An important space will be dedicated to the celebrations of April 25th, through letters, photographs, newspaper articles and above all posters, created in some cases by exceptional illustrators such as Lucio Fontana and the partisan graphic designer Albe Steiner.
The sketch for the poster of the exhibition of the 1st and 2nd Risorgimento, organized in 1946, coming from the historical-artistic heritage of the Milanese ANPI, will also be visible.
