The widespread exhibition "Humor and Satire in Milan" aimed to re-propose approximately 150 years of Italian history, particularly Milanese, through the exhibition of the pages of the humorous and satirical newspapers of the time.

The widespread exhibition was presented to the press and public in the Conference Room of Palazzo Moriggia|Museo del Risorgimento - the place where the first section "Humor and Satire in Milan, since 1848" was exhibited

Below are the sections of the exhibition:

  • “Humor and satire in Milan since 1848” (February 23 - April 10)
    In collaboration with Palazzo Moriggia|Museo del Risorgimento
    In this section of the exhibition, great valorisation was given to the rich collection present in the Civic Collections of Palazzo Moriggia|Museo del Risorgimento, to which were added documents from the newspaper library of the Anna Kuliscioff Foundation and reproductions from the Istituto Nazionale Ferruccio Parri and from the Paolo Moretti Fund.

  • “Women in Satire” (February 23 - March 22)
    In collaboration with the National Women's Union
    In the “Women in Satire” section set up at the National Women's Union in Corso di Porta Vittoria 32
    An overview of the satire on women, in particular on the emancipationist and suffragist battles, and on the female condition in the pages of gifts, humorous weeklies, Milanese magazines, in a period of time from 1900 to 1950. Exhibition of vintage pages of the Unione Femminile Archive and Archive Anna Kuliscioff Foundation and exhibition of part of the exhibition “Giuseppa, Genoveffa and the other…women in the eye of satire during fascism” curated by AnnaMaria Imperioso and Rossella Coarelli.

  • “Scalarini and political satire in Milan” (March 1 - March 27)
    In collaboration with Casa della Memoria and Istituto Nazionale Ferruccio Parri
    The section of the exhibition dedicated to Scalarini and political satire in Milan was set up at the Casa della Memoria in Via Confalonieri 14.
    The exhibition presents a gallery of well-known figures of the time, in the history of our country and in particular in Milan, portrayed by the scathing pen of Giuseppe Scalarini. Exhibition of vintage pages and original documents from the Anna Kuliscioff Foundation and reproduction of drawings on various newspapers of the period kindly provided by the Scalarini family.
