The Universal Declaration of Human Rights turns 75:
the initiatives of the Human Rights Foundation
We start on October 25th with the call "Milan: memory and future of rights" aimed at all citizens
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it starts again
Wednesday 25 October 2023 the project "Milan: memory and future of rights", promoted by Human Rights Foundation, with the contribution of City of Milan within the platform “Milan is Memory".
From 25 October it will once again be possible for citizens to report their "place of rights" in Milan: those sites in the city, that is, where small and large stories of rights (or their violations) have taken place or where one or more articles from
Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
To participate, simply log on to the site until November 25th
www.fondazionedirittiumani.org and indicate your "place of rights", with a brief justification.
The resulting list will then be delivered to the Municipality of Milan to continue to give substance to those values of solidarity, peace and anti-fascism that have always characterized the history of Milan, so that more and more Milanese - especially those of the new generation - can recognize oneself in these roots of values, and together build a citizenship capable of making Milan a capital of human rights.
The "Milan: memory and future of rights" project started last year with a first edition which, again thanks to citizens' reports, gave rise to a first cycle of podcasts: five free downloadable audio guides which tell as many stories of rights in five locations in Milan.
A second season of podcasts will be produced this year: the places to which they are dedicated and the release dates will be announced shortly.
The Human Rights Foundation also has other initiatives in store to adequately commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
