from 21 March 2022 to 27 Jan 2023
On March 2, 2022, a Palazzo Marino, the first edition of the project was presented "The Milan Conservatory for its city".
A schedule of events that will accompany the symbolic dates of the city's civil calendar and which will contribute to enriching the 'Milan is memory' project.
The Milan Conservatory responded positively to the invitation of the Municipality of Milan to create the first edition of the project 'The Milan Conservatory for its City', an artistic program of twelve events placed temporally on 'symbolic' dates, in which the Milanese community it is recognized in the memory and memory, which have marked the history of humanity and of the City itself.
A collaboration between the Municipality of Milan and the Conservatory which has strengthened over the years also thanks to events designed for civil celebrations. One of these is the concert organized by the Conservatory since 2000 on the occasion of Remembrance Day, which inspired the project 'The Milan Conservatory for its city'.
“There have already been several Remembrance Day Concerts promoted by the Milan Conservatory which have allowed us to appreciate and offer the City the beauty of music combined with civic and civil commitment – underlines the Deputy Mayor Anna Scavuzzo -. It is a pleasure and an honor that the Milan Conservatory has decided to further strengthen its contribution to the Milan is Memory paths, presenting together with the Administration a program of great musical and artistic quality, which will accompany some of the most significant ceremonies dedicated to memory of our history and to the commitment to democracy, freedom and justice. The Milan Conservatory adds a piece of great value in the framework of 'Milan is memory', in the virtuous collaboration between the institutions that operate and collaborate so that, generation after generation, it is always current to bring lifeblood to the values that are one with the spirit of active and responsible citizenship of our City".
It's been many years - for the last six, under the leadership of Cristina Frosini, with a clear acceleration in this direction - that the doors of the Conservatory are increasingly open to the City of Milan, with a great response from the public who choose the Conservatory to listen to music, the involvement of the students themselves, who are constantly offered opportunities to perform in the city, also for the benefit of those segments of the public who cannot attend music in concert halls, with performances in the suburbs, in neighborhood libraries, in prisons, in hospitals.
