THE DAY OF REMEMBRANCE FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE FOIBE

Milan 9 February 2023 - Milan remembers the victims of the Foibe and of the exodus of the Istrians, Fiumeans and Dalmatians from their lands after the Second World War.

Tomorrow, February 10th, in Day of Remembrance, a national civil solemnity established by the Italian Parliament in 2004 to preserve and renew the memory of this tragedy, the Municipality has planned two moments of city celebration.

  • All 9 am in Piazza della Repubblica, the commemoration ceremony will take place at the monument in memory of the Martyrs of the Foibe with the laying of wreaths in the presence of the civil and military authorities.

  • All 11 am, in Sala Alessi a Palazzo Marino, the Municipality will host the meeting with the Associations of Istrian, Fiume and Dalmatian Exiles. Always at Palazzo Marino, in the Tapestry Room, the exhibition set up by the architect will be open to the public Massimiliano Tita on behalf of FederEsuli “You will leave everything cherished more dearly.
