Thematic sites - Municipality of Milan

MILAN IS MEMORY. Also this year, in line with the programmatic lines dictated by the City Council - which identifies Memory as a fundamental element of cohesion and city identity - in order to give concrete support also in economic terms, contributions have been provided to in favor of bodies and associations involved in the preservation, promotion and dissemination of Memory. 

The public notice, which was published on the website of the Municipality of Milan on 30/05/2023, saw the participation of numerous bodies and associations engaged in the dissemination of the constituent themes of "Milan is memory" for the year 2023 favor of the city of Milan.

In response to the public notice, n. 37 grant applications and over half of the projects were selected to receive a grant, disbursed until funds are exhausted.

Therefore, the participation of subjects in the Notice was numerous and the schedule of projects that were presented was wide in variety.

At the center is the commitment to tell and testify to the city's identity from anti-fascism to social solidarity, from neo-fascist massacres to the fight against the mafia, to peace and much more. Particular attention was given to the projects dedicated to the anniversary which occurs this year: 2023 marks the hundredth anniversary of the aggregation of the villages to the city of Milan, an event that has drawn the civic, community and physical boundaries of the city as we know it and which is the root of the urban polycentric characteristic.
