October 20 marks the 78th anniversary of the Gorla massacre.

Il City of Milan Family Committee Honoring the Little Martyrs of Gorla, L 'ANVCG (National Association of Civilian War Victims ONLUS - APS), The Parish of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus, L 'GORLA TOMORROW Association and ACLI Gorla APS Club Milan remember the Little Martyrs of Gorla.

It was October 20, 1944 when an air patrol of the 15th American Air Force, before returning to base, got rid of the residual explosive by unloading it on the neighborhoods of Gorla and Precotto, causing hundreds of deaths.

A bomb hit the stairwell of the "Francesco Crispi" elementary school in Gorla directly, where 184 children, 14 teachers, the school director, 4 janitors and 1 health assistant lost their lives.
