In via Pacini the first sustainable drainage system (SUDS) on public roads

The stretch of via Pacini, between via Teodosio and via Capranica, has been redeveloped, at the end of 8 months of work which saw the central parterre completely rearranged and enlarged for a length of 200 metres, with the insertion of a pedestrian path, elements of furniture (25 benches, 4 racks for 5-seater bicycles and 1 table with benches), hedges and the first sustainable urban drainage system (SUDS) ever built in Milan on a public road. All this in place of dozens of cars parking illegally on the tree-lined parterre.

The works were carried out by MM SpA, while the study for the redevelopment of via Pacini was entrusted to AMAT in collaboration with the Mobility and Green departments, with the idea of achieving a dual objective: on the one hand creating a usable space and pleasant for the neighborhood, an area to cross safely and in which one can also linger; on the other, safeguarding the existing greenery and enriching it with the presence of new plantings, promoting sustainability and biodiversity.
