The testimony of Laura operator of Tate Colf Caregivers

Laura told us about her experience from WeMi Tate Colf Carers operator.

She studied psychology and has had various work experiences in the field of human resources. For a year and a half she has been searching for family assistants at WeMi.

My expertise

Within WeMi Tate Maids carers I take care of a series of activities: I guide the citizens who contact us in finding the ideal solution to their needs; I carry out interviews with workers who register on the WeMi portal, analyzing their skills and evaluating their professional profiles;

I respond to requests from families looking for a support figure (caregivers, babysitters, housekeepers); I deal with identifying the right figure to propose based on the analysis of citizens' needs.

Having studied psychology (with a professional background in healthcare) certainly helps me to analyze the needs of families more effectively, while at the same time managing to better understand the pathologies of the elderly (in the case of requests for carers).

What difficulties

The most difficult part of this job is trying to understand what the real needs of the people who contact us are. Furthermore, on a human level, sometimes there are stories that are more striking: for example, a few days ago, I had the opportunity to have an interview with a single mother who lives in a community with her disabled son. For her, finding work is urgent…

Unfortunately, it often happens that the need for work is accompanied by further difficulties and managing these complexities is not easy.

Because I love my job

I like knowing the life story of the person in front of me, understanding how they got here, beyond their work experiences, I'm interested in their personal experiences.

I believe that the service of Nannies Maids Carers be a concrete help e price quotation in favor of all families and workers who need support in the domestic sector and this element of usefulness is among the aspects I like most about my job.

Stories to remember

I had the opportunity to meet a citizen who initially sent us a request for a caregiver for his mother. After having identified the right figure for his situation and evidently satisfied with the service received, he forwarded other requests for relatives and acquaintances. Over time, the relationship that has been created is one of complete trust. He has always been very sincere and this allowed me to always find the right person.

Another story that struck me is that of a 97-year-old lady, alone, who managed to get to the service completely independently. She called 020202, she was contacted by us and then together we entered her request on the portal. She needed company and someone to help her manage the house and we managed to find the right person for her. Now she is no longer alone!

Among family caregivers, there are many stories that are striking, then there are some that remain in your heart, like that of Mrs. Dora, a caregiver who has always worked in live-in partnerships. She struck me because she was very honest right from the start, she told me that she needed to find a job before retiring and finally be close to her grandchildren. She was very transparent and, with her 25 years of experience, it wasn't difficult to find her a job, accompanying her in the realization of her life project.

Advice for workers

The thing a worker should never do during an interview is appear to be too good at everything. There are people who present themselves as experts in anything (despite having no qualification and/or experience).

Better to be honest about your skills and previous work. Being honest ultimately rewards the success of the meeting between worker and family and is the best guideline to follow to find a job suited to your professional profile.
