Even this year the municipality of Milan on the occasion of Christmas it offers all citizens a widespread exhibition, which starting from the work exhibited at Palazzo Marino it involves all nine Municipalities.

On the occasion of the celebrations for the five hundredth anniversary of the death of Perugino (Pietro Vannucci), the traditional installation in the Alessi Room will be dedicated to the great Master: free guided tours scheduled from 5 December to 14 January, discovering his masterpiece The Baptism of Christ.

Protagonists of the event also the other eight Municipalities, which from 11 December to 5 January will host one opera each in their reference libraries, participating in the large-scale exhibition project, aimed at recounting the theme of childhood and baptism in art.


FREE GUIDED TOURS TO DISCOVER THE WORKS OF PERUGINO

 

Access to the exhibition at Palazzo Marino Perugian. The Baptism of Christ è free and includes guided tour conducted by art historians, who will accompany visitors inside Sala Alessi where Perugino's great masterpiece it is displayed inside a reproduction
of the original architectural structure of the polyptych.

 

A SUSTAINABLE EXHIBITION THAT CELEBRATES THE SACREDITY OF WATER


 

The scenographic exhibition project of the Perugino exhibition. The Baptism of Christ, curated by architects Franco Achilli and Luigi Ciuffreda, evokes the sacredness of water, the ultimate symbol of life, rebirth and purification.
Water is increasingly perceived as a fundamental resource by the collective conscience; to integrate this connotation and respect the environment, the setup is totally sustainable and completely recyclable.


The works of the Municipalities

In the other eight Municipalities of the City, the libraries will host important loans from the Gallery of Modern Art, the Museum of the Twentieth Century (Boschi Di Stefano collection) and the Casa Museo Boschi Di Stefano from 11 December 2023 to 5 January 2024: a journey through works of 'nineteenth and twentieth centuries, to contribute to the knowledge and valorisation of the city's heritage.
The common thread that unites the works of the widespread exhibition is the theme of baptism and childhood in art.
