Municipal sports facilities
Municipally owned sports facilities form the backbone of the city's sports system.
The management of the facilities is distributed to the Milanosport spa company and to the sports federations, sports promotion bodies, associations or amateur sports clubs.
THECivic Arena "Gianni Brera" it is the only facility managed directly by the municipal administration through the Sports and Attraction Area.
Some facilities (including the seaside resorts) are entrusted to the Milanosport SpA company. The management criterion provides for controlled prices, good maintenance, openness to citizens.
Through Milanosport it is possible to access information on:
- organisers' activities
- sports courses
- free time courses
that the company organizes at the centers entrusted to it to manage.
Below is the list of municipal facilities managed under concession for use by sports federations, sports promotion bodies, associations or amateur sports clubs with information on their main characteristics and the equipment available.
The "Gianni Brera" Civic Arena is a facility managed directly by the municipal administration through the Sports and Attractions Area.
In the Civic Arena there are:
- a 400 m tartan athletics track with 8 lanes, a detour for the 3.000 hedges with straights attached to warm-up curves;
- two platforms for the pole vault, two platforms for the high jump, two bidirectional platforms for the long and triple jump;
- a platform for the shot put, a platform for the discus throw, a platform for the hammer throw;
- an 11-a-side football/rugby pitch in natural grass inside the track, illuminated by light towers;
- a gym for general gymnastics with synthetic flooring, a gym with weight machines with synthetic flooring;
- spectator grandstand.
