Citizens over 60

There are many services dedicated to people who have turned 60:

  • social secretariat: information on services aimed at elderly people promoted by the Municipality and other public and private bodies

  • collection and management of requests for social services forwarded by the elderly population:
    - examination of requests for financial contributions
    - collection of applications for access to healthcare facilities (retirement homes)
    - projects for inclusion in protected and shared accommodation, in accommodation communities and in day centres
    - implementation of the Elderly Foster Care project

  • personal and home care: a service that helps the elderly person with personal hygiene, preparing meals and small external errands and offers help with accompaniments.

Nursing homes (RSAs) are retirement homes, i.e. those extra-hospital facilities that offer permanent hospitality to elderly citizens in need of care and assistance. In addition to hotel-type services, healthcare, healthcare and rehabilitation services are provided in an integrated manner.

In each RSA there is an Integrated Day Center (CDI) which operates on a day basis, as an alternative to full-time hospitalization.

RSA are aimed at people over 65 years old and with a health situation that does not allow independent living at home. The service can be extended to citizens under the age of 65 if the health condition presents geriatric pathologies such as to make placement in a RSA necessary.

It is necessary to contact the Territorial Social Service, present in all municipalities, to ask for information on the service, receive orientation and activate the services that best meet the needs of the elderly person.
