The discovery of bone remains allows you to choose between different solutions.

Request a cell for remains 
The cell can be requested in the same cemetery where the deceased person is already buried or, if the requirements are met, in another city cemetery.

Cremate the bone remains
In this case it is possible:

1. bury them in individual cells;
2. reunite them with the ashes of another family member in a cell already in use. The operation must be carried out in compliance with the technical rules and regulations for burials;
3. insert them into a ninety-nine-year-old tomb already built;
4. obtain entrustment of the cinerary urn to one of the family members.

Place the remains in a columbarium where a body is already buried
The operation must be carried out in compliance with the technical rules and regulations for burials.

Insert the remains into ninety-nine-year-old tombs already built
This solution is also valid in the case of cremation of the remains.

Transfer the remains outside the Milan area
To transport the box containing the bone remains to another municipality or a foreign country, consult the document Transfer ashes or bone remains outside the Municipality of Milan.

This solution is also valid in the case of cremation of the remains.

If the decomposition process has not yet concluded, the body is usually buried in the "undecomposed field" of the same cemetery.

At the request of the relatives it is possible to opt for cremation. In this case the rules and destinations described in the paragraph apply Discovery of bone remains.
