Every year, between October and December, the Permanent Census of Population and Housing takes place which involves a representative sample of families drawn from ISTAT.

The Census, which since 2018 is no longer ten-yearly but annual, allows us to know the structural and socioeconomic characteristics of the population that usually lives in Italy at a national, regional and local level, as well as comparing them with those of the past and of other countries.

Responding to the Census is a legal obligation for the selected families, but also an opportunity to participate in social life.

The 2022 edition ended with good participation from citizens.
