Summer Cultural Campuses

Nature, archaeology, art, science, photography and much more. There are so many experiences and activities proposed by the Civic Museums for the 2024 summer campuses, all in the name of fun and discovery.
From the Civic Aquarium to the Natural History Museum, from the Sforzesco Castle to the Museum of the Twentieth Century, from the MUDEC to the Archaeological Museum and the Gallery of Modern Art, the civic museums will welcome girls and boys from June to September.

MEGALOCAMP. A summer underwater between past and present
From 10st June to 6th September


Weekly campuses
Age: 6 to 11 years

Discovering the underwater world of the past and present, to learn, between science and legend, everything about the most famous shark of the past and other legendary sea creatures. Outdoor games, visits to the tanks, scientific laboratories and adventurous tests will see the young explorers engaged in the conquest of the mythological "glossopetre", the precious shark teeth that will be used to complete the jaw of the team megalodon.

Discovery campus 2024 at the Natural History Museum
From 11 June to 6 September

Weekly campuses
Age: 6 to 11 years

An Indiana Jones summer! Together with the young explorers he will go to discover the lost world on the trail of evolution as a science detective. In the Paleolab you can experience adventures among fossils, ammonites, cells and living organisms, with experimental activities, scientific laboratories and team games.
Every Wednesday there will be an outing to Palazzo Morando with visits dedicated to the world of fabrics and art.

Painters of light at the Sforzesco Castle: the stained glass window
From 10st June to 6th September

Weekly campuses
Age: 6 to 10 years

During the campus, children will be able to experience the stages of creating an artistic stained glass window, from structure to colour. After having explored the glass works of the Sforzesco Castle and admired the windows of the Duomo, as in the ancient workshops, a stained glass window inspired by the great masters of the art will be created. There will be no shortage of games and entertainment in the Castle courtyards and in the teaching room.
 

Carpenters and painters at the Sforzesco Castle: the polyptych
From June 17th to August 30th

Weekly campuses
Age: 6 to 10 years

Pigments, eggs, wood, plaster and gold leaf: these are the materials for creating a polyptych. In the rooms of the Sforza Castle you can admire the masterpieces of great Renaissance artists and you can experiment, as in the times of Foppa, Mantegna or Giotto, and create a polyptych. An opportunity to experience a summer dedicated to art, work and play in the Castle courtyards and in the classroom.

I express myself with Street Art
From the 10 June to the 26 July

Weekly campuses
Age: 11 to 15 years

Inspired by Boccioni, Balla, Severini, Picasso, Modigliani, Klee and Kandinsky, collective murals on cardboard will be created through the basic techniques of street art.

 

I express myself with comics and stop motion
From June 17th to August 30th

Weekly campuses
Age: 11 to 15 years

After analyzing the dynamic works of Futurism, you will be able to experiment with the cutout animation technique to create moving stories with stop motion, transforming the strip into an animated short film.

 

I express myself through photography
From 24st June to 6th September

Weekly campuses
Age: 11 to 15 years

In the setting of the Museo del Novecento, photographic sets will be created with soft boxes, easels and lighting, experimenting with light painting, colored filters and new shots.

Investigation at the museum
From 10st June to 6th September

Age: 8 to 12 years

A week of archeology and science, laboratories and role-playing games, investigations and mysteries to be solved to understand how different skills and even a bit of ingenuity are needed to reconstruct the past. Decipherment of hieroglyphics, study of human bones, archaeological excavations and the work of a paleontologist: as a detective you will have to unravel a mystery that lies within the ancient Roman walls of the Museum.


From Olympia 776 BC to Paris 2024 DC | Everyone at the Olympics!
From 17 to 21 June and from 26 to 30 August

Age: 6 to 11 years

On the occasion of the Paris Olympics, we will take a leap into the past to discover the origins of these sporting games. From Greek athletes to Roman gladiators to today's champions, we talk about the ancient and modern Olympics by experimenting with some ancient sports disciplines. A journey through time and space between visits to museums, creative and theatrical workshops and outdoor games.

Backstage: let's have an exhibition! Campus for young museographers
Weekly campuses
From the 10 June to the 26 July

Age: 6 to 11 years

Discovering the secrets that hide behind the magic of an exhibition. Inside the MUDEC, children will be able to go behind the scenes of the Museum, meet with industry professionals and follow daily activities and workshops that combine play and learning. From communication to loans, from curatorship to conservation, through installations, lighting, captions and accessibility, at the end of the week they will create a real exhibition.

A summer with art!
From 10st June to 6th September

Summer in the Secret Garden
Age: 6 to 11 years

Discovering the green spaces of the city, from the splendid royal garden of the GAM to the other urban parks: Giardini Montanelli, Parco Sempione, the Botanical Garden of Brera or the garden of the Rovati Foundation Museum. The real gardens are compared to the painted ones in a mutual dialogue to gather from the artists and architects any useful suggestions for the creation of a personal garden.


One, none, a hundred limbs
Age: 11 to 14 years

A week dedicated to artistic experiments in search of one's individuality, artistic but not only: you will immerse yourself in the works firsthand and after having observed them up close and in unconventional ways, you will be able to try your hand at the artistic techniques that the masterpieces they propose. Every day we will discover a different technique of contemporary art thanks to professionals who teach the secrets to best express ourselves, starting from the works of the GAM, Palazzo Morando, Museo del Risorgimento and Fondazione Rovati.
