Common goods. The Espinasse library begins its activity

Built inside an asset confiscated from the mafia, it is the result of a collaboration agreement between the Municipality of Milan, the Circola association and a group of citizens

Milan, May 18 2019 – Hundreds of books in an apartment confiscated from the mafia. The Espinasse social library begins its activity today, with a rich catalog of titles on photography, travel, children's literature, non-fiction, texts on legality and the fight against the mafia.

A new social and cultural meeting point in the Villapizzone district, the result of a collaboration agreement signed between the Municipality of Milan, owner of the property, the Circola association and a group of inhabitants of the condominium in Viale Espinasse 106 who spontaneously organized themselves into a committee to carry out this project.

Inside the space there is also a section dedicated to bookcrossing, where anyone can exchange and share their literary passions and will soon also host literary meetings, artistic and photographic exhibitions, courses for adults and children for the sharing of professional skills and personal experiences .

The creation of the library was possible thanks to a participatory process with the neighborhood curated by Ascolto Attivo and saw the collaboration of the students of the IIS Cremona, the Rotary Club Milano Est, which donated part of the books present, and the Library Area of the Municipality of Milan, which trained the volunteers and provided valuable technical and organizational support.

It will be possible to support the Library's initiatives by purchasing a card (ordinary or supporter) and following all the initiatives on the website or Facebook page dedicated to the project. Info: http://www.bibliotecaespinasse.it/
